One of my favorite hobbies is creating new musical instruments. It began as a class at Stanford, and has become a full-fledged obsesision.

Kalichord Strum

My latest invention, the Kalichord Strum. A new take on the Kalichord, this one has been designed to designed to offer keyboardists an intuitive and expressive way to play rhythmic strumming parts in real time. The Kalichord Strum was a finalist in the 2016 Guthman Musical Instrument Competition.

Kalichord

My first invention, which I started as a project at Stanford, is called the Kalichord. It's a hybrid electro-acoustic instrument, sort of a cross between a kalimba, kora, and accordian, you play basslines with your left hand and pluck virtual digital strings with your right hand.
